IT Transformation within the Castel Group

CASTEL GROUP – SD-WAN Solution Deployment and Management

Deployment and operation and maintenance of the Aruba SD-WAN solution across more than 25 sites in Africa and Europe.

Context

The CASTEL group wished to modernise and unify its network to gain stability and performance. The challenge was to deploy a robust SD-WAN infrastructure to reduce latency, optimise costs, and guarantee service continuity.

Requirements

Implement a reliable and scalable SD-WAN solution.

Optimising network performance and traffic distribution across different sites.

Centralise management and supervision to reduce complexity, facilitate interventions, and benefit from Maintenance in Operational Condition (MCO).

Approach
  • Approach

Preliminary study Analysis of existing links, network topology and specific site requirements.

SD-WAN Architecture Design Selection of appropriate Aruba equipment, definition of routing policies and traffic prioritisation.

Phased rollout Commissioning of the new network site by site, to limit disruptions and validate performance at each stage.

Supervision and MCO Implementation of 24-hour supervision, monitoring of indicators and rapid intervention in case of an incident.

Skills transfer Building an internal IT team to ensure autonomous management, while offering continuous support.

Results
  • Results

Enhanced performance Notable reduction in latency times, improved quality of service for critical applications (ERP, messaging, videoconferencing).

Centralised management Increased visibility across all sites thanks to a unified console and simplified configuration.

Increased availability Proactive intervention in case of alerts and a rapid recovery plan for each site, limiting operational impact during incidents.

Scalability and cost reduction Ability to add new sites or increase network capacity without complicating the infrastructure, while optimising costs.
