Brakina: Securing Industrial IT – SATLX

BRAKINA - Server infrastructure modernisation

Modernisation of server infrastructure for a multi-site company.

Context

BRAKINA had an ageing server infrastructure spread across several heterogeneous physical machines, making its management complex. It was crucial to unify and secure the environment to improve the availability, performance, and maintainability of services.

Requirements

To design a modern, hyper-converged server architecture for improved reliability and performance.

Set up a high availability (HA) cluster to secure data access and limit service interruptions.

Review the IP addressing plan and prepare for infrastructure evolution.

Approach
  • Approach

Audit of the existing situation Detailed assessment of technical capability, resources, and constraints to define the roadmap for the redesign.

Hyperconverged concept Implementation of a hyper-converged cluster, integrating compute and storage, to simplify management and increase resilience.

IP plan redesign Complete reorganisation of addressing for better network segmentation, easier supervision, and to plan for medium/long-term growth.

Managed migration Phased rollout of the new infrastructure, with a cutover plan ensuring service continuity and a seamless transition.
